CRM Software Free Upgrade

If you are using an earlier v3.0 build, you can upgrade to the latest CRM Software v3.0 build by simply downloading, installing and running our Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool. If you cannot see the version of the software on the main Search page you can go to the Help->Help About menu to see the Version and Build of the software.

Amphis Customer v2.6 Free Upgrade

We have been offering a Free Upgrade to users of Amphis Customer v2.6 for over 5 years now but if you are still using v2.6 and haven't upgraded to v3.0 then this page contains information on doing that.

All PCs MUST be Running the SAME Version and Build of the Software

Please note, if you have multiple PCs sharing data and documents, you will need to Upgrade All the PCs to the Same version and Build. If you run different versions of the software all accessing the same database, this can invalidate the data and prevent Amphis Customer running.

Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0

The latest version of Amphis Customer is designed to be able to work on Windows 8 as well as Windows 7, Vista and XP. It requires the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 or a later version to be installed. If you don't have the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 installed, the Setup Program may prompt you to install it or you can download it from here and install it. Please note that on Windows XP, you will need to have Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 installed in order to install Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0.

Before You Start

Before attempting to upgrade Amphis Customer v2.6, check you have a backup of your database (customer.mdb) and your Documents and Templates folders. Also close down Amphis Customer. See CRM Backups.

DO NOT UNINSTALL AMPHIS CUSTOMER v2.6.

Upgrade Steps

Do NOT uninstall Amphis Customer v2.6 as this will remove the database if it is a local database on the same PC.

Single User Amphis Customer v2.6 Upgrade

If you only have one PC that is running Amphis Customer, and the database, documents and templates are in the default location (meaning that you haven't changed the location of the database, documents and templates) then you can simply download and install the latest version of Amphis Customer from our home page onto the same PC. When you run Amphis Customer v3.0 it will automatically ask if you want to import your Amphis Customer v2.6 data into Amphis Customer v3.0. As long as you have already made a backup of your customer.mdb database file, documents and templates, and they are all in the default folder, click Yes.

(To be sure whether you are running Amphis Customer v2.6 or v3.0 when both are installed we recommend going to c:\Program Files(x86)\Amphis Software and going into the relevant folder and running the Amphis Customer.exe file from there)

Multi-User Amphis Customer v2.6 Upgrade

If you have multiple PCs running Amphis Customer then you must have already changed the location of the database, documents and templates in order to share them.

Check you have a backup of your shared database, documents and templates before going any further.

To upgrade to Amphis Customer v3.0, first choose a PC that is still running Amphis Customer v2.6. Go to Tools->Folders->View Data Folder. Close Amphis Customer. Copy the customer.mdb file from the shared location into that folder. Then download and install the latest version of Amphis Customer from our home page onto that PC. When you run Amphis Customer v3.0 and you are asked if you want to import your existing v2.6 data into v3.0, click Yes. That will upgrade the database to v3.0. Then close Amphis Customer and copy the database (customer.mdb) back to the shared folder.

(To be sure whether you are running Amphis Customer v2.6 or v3.0 when both are installed we recommend going to c:\Program Files(x86)\Amphis Software and going into the relevant folder and running the Amphis Customer.exe file from there)

Go to Tools->Configuration in Amphis Customer v3.0 and change the location of the database, documents and templates to point to the shared location and click the Save Changes buttons.

Then download and install the latest version of Amphis Customer from our home page onto the other PCs and go into Tools->Configuration on each PC to set the location for the database, documents and templates. You only have to upgrade the database once so if on the other PCs you are asked if you want to import your existing v2.6 data into v3.0, click No.

Check you have a backup of your shared database, documents and templates before attemptimg to upgrade to Amphis Customer v3.0.

We recommend using the upgraded database for a few weeks to be sure there are no problems with it and then you could uninstall Amphis Customer v2.6 once you are sure the Upgrade has been successful.
