Small Business Contacts Management Software / CRM Software Upgrade

If you are using an earlier 3.0 build, you can upgrade to the latest Contacts Database / CRM Software 3.0 build by simply downloading a .zip file and extracting files and copying them to the correct folder(s). Note: you cannot upgrade from 2.x to 3.0 in this way, to upgrade from 2.x to 3.0 Upgrade from CRM 2.x to 3.0

The Downloads page will show the current latest version and a link to the .zip file to download.

Downloads

Simply, go to the Downloads page and click on the Download a Free Upgrade to Amphis Customer link to download the .zip file and download it to your desktop.

To do this, click the Save button and specify the Desktop as the destination and click Save.

Now double-click the corresponding .zip file icon on your desktop and extract the files to your desktop.

NOTE: You must click Extract all files. It won't work if you try to run that Amphis Customer.exe file from within the zip file.

PLEASE NOTE: if you already have a config.mdb file DO NOT replace it with the one from the .zip file.

Before performing the Upgrade, make a backup of your database file (customer.mdb), and the documents and templates folders. By default, you will find these from Tools->Folders->View Data Folder. However, if you have changed the configuration of Amphis Customer eg to share customer data amongst several PCs, be sure to backup the correct files which may not be the ones stored locally on your PC. You can check the current configuration from Tools->Configuration. If you have upgraded to SQL Server, you will need to backup your SQL Server database before proceeding.

Before performing the upgrade, make a note of your current version of the software from Help->Help About in case you want to revert back to your original version for any reason.

In order to prevent Open File Security Errors you need to Unblock the .exe file by right-clicking it, selecting Properties and clicking Unblock and clicking OK. This needs to be done before copying the .exe file to the Programs folder.

PLEASE NOTE: if you already have a config.mdb file DO NOT replace it with the one from the .zip file.

Open the readme.txt file in the .zip using Notepad (you can just double-click on the file), and follow any version specific instructions.

(On a 64-bit PC, the folder will be c:\program files (x86)\amphis software\amphis customer v3.0)

Now when you run Amphis Customer in the normal way, you will be running the new version. Go to the Help->Help About menu option to check the version you are now running.
