CRM Software Upgrade Tool
If you are using an earlier 3.0 build, you can upgrade to the latest Contacts Database / CRM Software 3.0 build by simply downloading, installing and running our Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool.
Please note, if you have multiple PCs sharing data and documents, you will need to Upgrade All the PCs to the Same New version. If you run different versions of the software all accessing the same database, this can invalidate the data and prevent Amphis Customer running.
Before upgrading, if you are currently using a version of Amphis Customer older than v3.0.75, please read the Release notes for v3.0.75 as there were some important changes in that version.
If you have an older version than v1.3 of the Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool, please install the new v1.3 release. You will need this latest version of the Upgrade Tool in order to upgrade to the latest version of Amphis Customer.
Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0
The latest version of the Upgrade tool and also the latest version of Amphis Customer are both designed to work on Windows 8 Pro and they both require the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 to be installed. If you don't have the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 installed, the Setup Program for the Upgrade Tool will prompt you to install it or you can download it from here and install it. Please note that on Windows XP, you will need to have Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 installed in order to install Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0.
Before You Start
Before running the Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool, check you have a backup of your database (customer.mdb) and your Documents and Templates folders. Also close down Amphis Customer. See CRM Backups.

DO NOT UNINSTALL AMPHIS CUSTOMER.
Step 1
You need to download the MSI file and run it to install the Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool. This places a Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool icon on your desktop.

Step 2
Then you need to run the Upgrade App. On Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 Pro you will need to right-click on the Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool icon and click Run as administrator. On Windows XP you can just double-click the icon to run it.
If you see the option to Repair or Remove the Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool, select Remove. Then run the Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool msi file again.
DO NOT UNINSTALL AMPHIS CUSTOMER.
Step 3
You should see the Tool displayed which looks like this.
Click Check latest version to see if there is a newer version of Amphis Customer you can upgrade to (for free).
If nothing happens, close the software and right-click on the Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool icon and click Run as administrator.
Step 4
Click Download latest files to download the latest files to your PC.
Step 5
Click Upgrade to upgrade your CRM Software to the latest version.

Problems Upgrading ?
Make sure you right-click on the icon and select Run as administrator (see step 2 above) or else the app will not have sufficient privileges to perform the upgrade.
If that still doesn't work...
Step A Download the new files as a zip file from here and save the zip file to your desktop.
Step B Open the zip file (just double-click on it) and click Extract all files and extract the 3 files to your desktop.
Step C Close Amphis Customer.
Step D Copy the 3 files manually (this will require Administrator privileges) to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Amphis Software\Amphis Customer v3.0
On a 32-bit PC it would be
C:\Program Files\Amphis Software\Amphis Customer v3.0
If you see an error saying that a file is being used by another process, check that Amphis Customer is shut down, wait a minute and retry clicking the Upgrade button. If you see an error saying that Access is denied, you need to close down the Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool and right-click on the Amphis Customer Upgrade Tool icon and click Run as administrator.
Did It Work ?
Just run Amphis Customer and select the Help->Help About menu. That will show the version and build you are now running.
New Templates
If there have been any new Document Templates introduced since your previous version, you can download these from the Downloads page and copy them to your Templates folder. You would know if you are missing a template because if you tried to use the new functionality eg to Print an Envelope, but you didn't have the corresponding template, you would see an error message.
