Trying to install Amphis Customer gives this error.
The advertised application will not be installed because it might be unsafe. Contact your administrator to change the installation user interface option of the package to basic.
It is possible to set up a PC so that when installing software, the user in not allowed full control over where applications are installed.
This is normally when Group Policy is in use.
Group Policy is a set of rules which control the working environment of user accounts and computer accounts. Group Policy provides the centralized management and configuration of operating systems, applications and users' settings in an Active Directory environment. In other words, Group Policy in part controls what users can and can't do on a computer system.
In that situation, if a user tries to install Amphis Customer, they will see this message
The solution is to install the software from the command line as follows.
Click on the Start menu at the bottom left of the screen and click on the Run... option. If you cannot see the Run option, go to Start->All Programs->Accessories->Run
This should display the Run dialog box. type cmd and press OK
That should display a dialog box with a black background.
Make a note of the folder the dialog is showing. it will be something like c:\users\<username>
Move the downloaded amphiscustomer.msi file to the folder that is displayed in the dialog box or alternatively, download the msi file again and save it to that folder.
In the dialog box type the following and press Return
msiexec /qb /I amphiscustomer.msi
That should install Amphis Customer but if it doesn't please email Amphis Software support and we will be happy to help.
We are also working on changing the msi file so users don't experience this problem.
