Error creating Word document - Attempted to read or write corrupted memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. This is when attempting to create a Word document in Amphis Customer eg for an Invoice or a Quote"
Amphis Customer uses Word to create quotes, invoices, customer letters etc and the software only supports Word 2003 / Word 2007 or later. Sometimes, if there has been an earlier version of Word installed eg Office 2000 or Office XP (2002), this causes problems because part of the earlier version of Office/Word has stayed on the PC and the software tries to use that earlier version of Word.
If there is no version of Word installed you will typically see a "Retrieving the COM Classfactory failed" type error
If there has been an earlier version of Word installed - even if it has now been uninstalled, you may see this error :-
The solution is to install Word 2003 or a later version (if you haven't already) and uninstall the old version of Word. To uninstall the old version, go to Control Panel - Programs and Features (Add or Remove Programs on Windows XP) and you will see a list of installed software. If you have Office or Word 97/2000/2002/XP or Microsoft Works (which includes Word 2002) you will need to uninstall that pre-2003 version of Word.
It's also possible that an old version of Word was installed but has since been removed. The solution then is to uninstall your current version of Word and then re-install it. Some users have even had to completely uninstall Office and then re-install Office to get around this problem with Microsoft Office.
Also, check that if you run Word and create a document manually, then go to where the document is saved, right-click on the document and select Open. Check that the document is opened in your new version of Word. If it asks you what program to use, select Word and tick the "always use" checkbox. If you had Microsoft Works installed previously, sometimes it doesn't set the default to use Word to open documents.
