Export contacts to iPhone or other SmartPhone
Use Outlook to export contacts to a SmartPhone
You can export your contacts from Amphis Customer contacts database software to your iPhone or other smartphone via Outlook. Here are the steps you can take to make your contacts easily available on your iPhone or other smartphone wherever you are. (Note that this is a workaround for now using a custom report until we build the functionality directly into Amphis Customer).
In Amphis Customer, go to Reports->Customer Report Builder, click Create New Report and enter the name iphone.
Click OK twice and then select your report named iphone from the drop-down list at the top.
Replace
SELECT companyname, lastname, firstname FROM customer
with
SELECT companyname as company, lastname as [last name], firstname as [first name], lc.lookupvalue as title, [position] as [job title], worktel as [business phone], faxwork as [business fax], faxhome as [home fax], hometel as [home phone], websitework as [web page], addressline1 as [business street], addressline2 as [business street 2], addresstown as [business street 3], addresscity as [business city], addresscountystate as [business state], addresspostzipcode as [business postal code], co.lookupvalue as [business country/region], displayid as [account], emailwork as [E-mail Address], hometel as [E-mail 2 Address] FROM customer c, lookup_contacttitle lc, lookup_country co where c.titleid=lc.lookupkey and c.addresscountryid = co.lookupkey
Click Save Report.
(it doesn't matter if you have no idea what that means)
Click Run Report.
This will display your contacts in a format suitable for exporting to Outlook
Make sure Export Header is ticked and click Export File.
Click Reports Folder to find the file and rename it to iphone.csv
Copy iphone.csv to your desktop so you can easily find it.
Open iphone.csv in Excel and delete the first 3 rows (or if you prefer you can open it in notepad and delete the first 3 lines).
You should end up with something like this with 20 columns and a row for each contact. The top row will be the header with the names of the columns.
Next we can import the contacts into Outlook. Select File->Import and Export...
Select Import from another program or file
Select Comma separated values (Windows)
Browse to the desktop to locate the iphone.csv file and select Replace duplicates with items imported
Select the destination as Contacts
Check the settings and click Finish.
Now your contacts have been exported from Amphis Customer to Outlook, you can sync them to your iPhone or other smartphone.
To sync your contacts from Outlook to your iPhone you can use iTunes. Transfer contacts from Outlook to iPhone
