View Attached Files in Customer History
You can attach any files to a customer record by just dragging and dropping them onto any of the History Entry types. You can use the built-in types or create your own from Tools->Maintain Templates.
You can View Attached Files for a Customer Record by just selecting the relevant row in the Customer History and clicking the View Attached File button.
For built-in Document Types such as Letter, Quote, Invoice, Receipt, Statement etc this will display the associated Microsoft Word document.
For History Entry types, this will display whatever file you have attached to the customer history record. That could be a scanned-in document, an image, a spreadsheet, whatever you decided to add.
Amphis Customer just passes the View request to Windows, and Windows will attempt to open the file in the Default Program for that file type.
To see your Default Program settings, click the Start Menu and click Default Programs. Then click Set Associations.
You should see a list of file types and the Current Default program that Windows will use to open a file of that type.
For example, for a .doc file which is a Microsoft Office Word 97 - 2003 Document, Windows will most likely open the file by default using Microsoft Office Word.
