If you wish to continue using Amphis Customer CRM Software after the initial 60 day Free Trial, you need to purchase one or more licenses for the software. The licenses can be purchased online Purchase CRM Licenses

How many Licenses do I need ?

1 User License String = 1 User License

Amphis Customer Licenses are per User per Device. So you need one License for each User of the software on each Device they want to run the software on.

An exception is if you have Windows Roaming enabled which should enable Amphis Customer to use the same settings (including Licensing information) for the same user on multiple Windows devices. We suggest you test this on your network by logging onto different PCs as the same user.

You also do not need an additional license for remote access from devices such as iPads or smartphones because the Amphis Customer software runs on the remote PC not on the iPad or smartphone device.

Do I need a License for a separate PC where I just store Data and Documents

No, if you have multiple users and store the database and documents on a separate PC or server, you do not need to purchase a license for that PC if no-one runs Amphis Customer software on that PC.

Example License Scenarios

  • User Fred wants to use Amphis Customer on his PC. That requires just one license.

  • Users Fred and Mary want to use Amphis Customer on their PCs FredPC and MaryPC and store their shared Data and Documents on PC OfficePC. That requires 2 licenses, one for Fred and one for Mary. No License is required for OfficePC as no-one is running the Amphis Customer software on that PC.

  • Users Fred, Mary, Dave and Jill want to use Amphis Customer on their PCs FredPC, MaryPC, DavePC and JillPC and store their shared Data and Documents on PC OfficePC. Dave also wants to run Amphis Customer on his laptop DaveLAP. That requires 5 licenses, one each for Fred, Mary, Dave and Jill. No License is required for OfficePC as no-one is running the Amphis Customer software on that PC but Dave needs an additional License for running the software on his laptop (unless Windows Roaming enables him to use the same license string on his PC and his laptop).

  • Users Fred and Mary want to use Amphis Customer on their PCs FredPC and MaryPC and store their shared Data and Documents on PC OfficePC. Jill also wants to occasionally use Amphis Customer on MaryPC. That requires 3 licenses, one for Fred, one for Mary and one for Jill. No License is required for OfficePC as no-one is running the Amphis Customer software on that PC.

Questions and Answers

Q If I have 3 Users but only 1 User uses the software at a time, can I just purchase one license ?

A No, that is called Concurrent Licensing where you pay for the maximum number of users at a time. Amphis Customer Licensing is not Concurrent Licensing. It is per User per Device so if those 3 Users use one device each eg a PC each, you would need to purchase 3 licenses.

How to get your License String

When you install the software on a PC, a serial number is automatically created. If you purchase a license and then run Amphis Customer and click the Get License String button or menu to send us your serial number, we will return the corresponding license string once we have received the payment. You can then click Register License and enter the license string to fully license the software.

The License String is specific to that User on that PC. If you want to run the software on a different PC or a different User wants to run the software on the same PC they will need another License String.

When you purchase a license you do not need to re-install any software. You keep all the customer records you have created and any templates you have set up. If you want to Delete any test data you can select Delete Customer from the Customer Menu.

Adding more Users

You can purchase additional licenses at any time and add users to the software. It is cost-effective to purchase multiple users up front if you know that you will be adding more users later. For price information go to CRM Prices

Moving to a new PC

The licenses are transferable so if you purchase a new PC you don't need to purchase an additional license for the new PC as long as you stop using the software on the old PC. You cannot legally continue to use the software on the old PC if you transfer the license to a new PC.
