Microsoft Access Compact and Repair
Compact and Repair a Microsoft Access Database to minimize resources and check integrity
Microsoft Access is a very popular choice as a database for Small Business Software and it copes amazingly well with large quantities of data and even large numbers of users sharing data over a network.
But Microsoft Access doesn't automatically reclaim space when data is deleted and it is possible for a Microsoft Access Database to suffer integrity problems especially when used over a network.
Microsoft provide a Compact and Repair utility within Microsoft Access and this Free Software makes use of that utility to make it easy for you to perform a Compact and Repair.

How to Compact and Repair a Microsoft Access Database
It is essential that the database is copied to a separate PC to perform the Compact and Repair or else the file may be locked by open connections.
First make sure you have a backup of the database. Copy the database file to a separate PC. Install and run the Free Amphis Compact and Repair Application on that separate PC.
Then click Browse to navigate to the Microsoft Access Database.
Then click Compact and Repair
The Microsoft Access Database is compacted and repaired to create a new time-stamped Microsoft Access Database leaving the original intact.
You can then compare the size of the original and the compacted dataabse. You can move the original somewhere safe and rename the new file the same as the original and copy it back to the server.
