First, you need to install Amphis BizMonitor. Simply click on the link above to download the .msi file and save it to your desktop. Then run the .msi file to install the Amphis BizMonitor Business Data Monitoring Software.
Next, you need to download the Demo which is a .zip file that consists of a simple Microsoft Access Database and a simple program which inserts data into the Database along with a configuration file.

Save demo.zip to your desktop and then extract the files to a Demo folder on your desktop.
Now, run Amphis BizMonitorConfig. You should see an icon to run it on your Program menu or on your desktop.
Click the Browse button and navigate to the Database test.mdb in the Demo folder on your desktop. Click Test Connection to check you can connect to the Database.
Change the frequency of monitoring to every 2 minutes.
Change the title to Customer Purchases. Then click Next.
On the next page, enter the following details and tick the Enable checkboxes and click OK.
Here are the SQL instructions so you can copy and paste them. It doesn't matter if you don't understand what these SQL instructions mean. One is working out the number of purchases in the Database and the other is working out the largest purchase amount. These are the values that will be calculated and displayed on the web page.

You will be asked whether it is ok to restart the BizMonitor service. Click Yes and then on the following screen click OK.
Now run the Demo.exe program which you extracted to the Demo folder on the desktop. Enter a name for the customer and enter an amount for the purchase and click Insert Record. Do this a few times entering different amounts.
Now you just need to navigate to the web page to see the results. The easiest way to do this is to run Amphis BizMonitorConfig again and click on the View button next to the Summary File Title.
You'll see the results displayed like this. This is showing the total number of purchases and also the largest purchase that has been made. We have set the Database to be monitored every 2 minutes so you may have to wait a minute or so to see the results.
Enter some more purchases on the Demo application and you'll see the web page update automatically. The web page automatically refreshes every few seconds and we are currently monitoring the database every 2 minutes. You could leave this running on a monitor somewhere to automatically monitor key information about your business.
You can also view the 24 hour history of values. To do this, first run Amphis BizMonitor and click the View button below the one you clicked earlier (next to the 24 Hour History field). Once you have clicked this once, you should be able to click the 24 hour history link on the web page.
Of course, what you really need to be monitoring is your own business database. If you have a Microsoft Access database, you can click the Browse button in Amphis BizMonitorConfig to specify your own database. You'll then need to write the SQL statements to generate the results you need. If your database is a SQL Server database, you can specify it on the SQL Server tab.
